BPS Sidenreng Rappang Commemorates the 81st Indonesian Independence Day

Sidenreng Rappang — Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS) of Sidenreng Rappang Regency held a ceremony to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The ceremony took place at the BPS Sidenreng Rappang Regency Office and was attended by employees and internship participants on Monday (08/17/2026).

The ceremony was held as a form of respect and reflection on the struggle of the nation’s heroes in achieving and defending Indonesia’s independence. All participants took part in the ceremony in an orderly and solemn manner, which included the raising of the Red and White Flag, the reading of the Proclamation text, and the presentation of Satyalancana Karya Satya awards to employees who have dedicated 10 and 20 years of service.

This year’s Independence Day commemoration was also marked by the wearing of traditional attire from various regions across the Indonesian archipelago. The diversity of traditional clothing worn by the participants reflected, in a simple way, Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage, which encompasses diverse ethnic groups, regions, and traditions. Wearing traditional attire has also become part of the annual Independence Day commemoration at BPS Sidenreng Rappang.

More than an annual ceremony, the August 17 momentum provided an opportunity for the entire BPS Sidenreng Rappang community to reflect on the values of independence, unity, and togetherness in carrying out their duties. These values also serve as a reminder of the importance of making the best contribution to society and the nation through professional work and public service.

With the spirit of independence, BPS Sidenreng Rappang remains committed to carrying out its role in providing high-quality and accurate statistical data that can serve as a foundation for development in Indonesia, particularly in Sidenreng Rappang Regency.
