SynergyLocal Government and BPS Sidrap Officially Launch the 2026 Economic Census

SIDENRENG RAPPANG – As an initial step toward mapping a comprehensive regional economic structure, the BPS-Statistics of Sidenreng Rappang Regency, together with the Regional Government of Sidenreng Rappang, officially held the Launching Ceremony (Pencanangan) for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026). This strategic national event was solemnly conducted at the Saromasse Auditorium, SKPD Complex of Sidenreng Rappang Regency, on Thursday (18/06/2026).

The pinnacle of the launching ceremony was marked by the symbolic striking of a traditional gong by both the Regent (Bupati) of Sidenreng Rappang and the Head of BPS Sidenreng Rappang. The resonance of the gong symbolized the official commencement of the SE2026 field data collection phase across the Bumi Nene Mallomo region, while reaffirming a solid collaborative commitment between the local government administration and the statistical data organizers.

This major event received full support from various strategic stakeholders in Sidenreng Rappang Regency. This was demonstrated by the attendance of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Heads of Departments within the Sidenreng Rappang Regional Government, Sub-district Heads (Camat), as well as Village Heads (Kepala Desa) and Urban Community Heads (Lurah) from all corners of the regency. The presence of these leaders from various administrative levels is expected to strengthen coordination networks and accelerate the expansion of socialization down to the grassroots level.

In addition to the bureaucracy and regional leaders, the ceremony was also attended directly by the 2026 Economic Census officers. Their presence served as a consolidation event and proved the readiness of the Human Resources (HR) who will act as the vanguard in scanning, identifying, and interviewing every economic actor—ranging from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to large corporations—in Sidenreng Rappang Regency.

The 2026 Economic Census is a crucial pillar in providing an accurate, updated, and reliable economic database. The data generated from SE2026 will serve as a primary compass for both central and local governments in formulating precise development policies, evaluating local economic potential, and designing strategies to foster a conducive business climate in Sidenreng Rappang Regency.
