SIDRAP – The Regional Government of Sidenreng Rappang officially launched the 2026 Village Love Statistics Program (Desa Cantik) centered in Teteaji Village, Tellu Limpoe District, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. This initiative marks a strategic step toward increasing the capacity of village officials to manage and utilize statistical data for more targeted regional development.
The launch event was attended by the Vice Regent of Sidenreng Rappang, leaders of relevant Regional Government Organizations (OPD), and the Head of BPS-Statistics Sidenreng Rappang Regency, Andi Asmarani, S.Sos., M.Si. The presence of these regional leaders underscores the government's commitment to realizing "One Data Indonesia," starting from the smallest administrative unit: the village.
Collaboration Across Three Villages in Tellu Limpoe
The 2026 Desa Cantik program in Sidrap Regency is giving special attention to the Tellu Limpoe District. Intensive training and assistance will be conducted in three villages:
All village officials from these three locations were present to participate in the training sessions. They will be equipped with skills regarding statistical metadata standardization, data collection methodologies, and the use of data for evaluating village performance.
Data as a Foundation for Policy
In his remarks, the Vice Regent emphasized that the existence of "Desa Cantik" is crucial to ensure that development planning is no longer based on assumptions but on accurate data. This aligns with the ongoing efforts of BPS-Statistics Sidenreng Rappang Regency to conduct sectoral statistical development throughout the "Bumi Nene Mallomo" region.
The Head of BPS-Statistics Sidenreng Rappang explained that "Desa Cantik" is not merely a label, but a mentoring process to ensure villages are capable of producing high-quality statistics. The training also includes performance evaluations of the program to ensure the sustainability of data quality in the field.
With this launch, it is expected that Teteaji, Polewali, and Teppo villages will become role models for other villages in Sidenreng Rappang Regency in achieving statistical independence, thereby supporting transparent and accountable governance.
